My name is Cindy Elizabeth Mejia Manzanares. I am 27 years old, originally from Comayagua, Honduras. As a young girl I was really lost, searching for a purpose in my life. I made some very wrong decisions that this world offers, until one day I heard God’s calling and felt his presence so strong. He lovingly showed me the purpose He had for my life. I started working with drug addicts, and social risk youth in gangs. I also did ministry with the youth at the school where I was working.

At that school I met Elvis, who is now my husband. We have two beautiful young children, ages four and one.

The Lord quickly started moving us toward our own ministry as a couple. Once a year we collected food, furniture and clothes, and together with other volunteers we visited impoverished people’s homes and donated these items, as well as helping them around the house with cleaning and painting. We always knew that God’s purpose for us was in social outreach.

Four years ago we started attending Linaje Escogido Church in La Villa, and we immediately wanted to get involved in many of their social outreach projects. It was challenging at that time, though, because we both had full time jobs in Comayagua, and could only go to La Villa on weekends. One year ago, God answered our prayers and we were able to move to La Villa. Since then He has opened more wonderful doors, and now we are actively engaged in our calling. I was hired as Linaje Escogido’s full time Social Outreach Manager in July 2017. Then at the beginning of 2018, Elvis was ordained as a Pastor in Linaje Escogido.

As the Outreach Manager I supervise and oversee operations for each project, send reports to Linaje Escogido senior pastors and to our Mission partners, organize training and strategic planning, look for new coordination opportunities within the Church and the community, and strengthen team unity and motivation. I strive to continually be God’s hands.
