New Feeding Center in El Varillal!!
Isaiah 58:10 "If you give some of your own food to [feed] those who are hungry and to satisfy [the needs of] those who are humble, then your light will rise in the dark, and your darkness will become as bright as the noonday sun.
We are pleased to announce a new initiative for the year 2022: a feeding center in the community of El Varillal, Honduras. We have partnered with this community for a number of years on projects like a well, a church floor and desks and other needs at the school. This community has demonstrated over and over a willingness to work hard to improve the lives of its residents and we at MHM have decided to do something ongoing to help this community.
During pandemic, we have provided bags of food to 25 families.
Thanks to generous donations, we were able to build a kitchen on the church property. The building is complete, but the interior finishing is still in progress. When complete, we plan to use this facility to cook meals for kids in need from the elementary school which is just 1 block away. School is scheduled to begin in person this month and we will start with the same 25 children and will hopefully increase with time.
We ask for your prayer support as we undertake this new project. Please pray for the 25 children and for Suyapa, our on-site coordinator. Also pray for the students and teachers as they begin in person school for the first time since the pandemic began.
